These resources can be used independently but do compliment the Pandemic Story Card Set.

Though there are some natural exemptions, due to age and medical conditions, there can still be hurtful comments made by members of the public directed at children. Some children find it supportive to have a personalised exemption card. Those children who are happy to wear masks can often find it reassuring to see pictures of what adults look like under their masks (some adults are now wearing photo masks or badges to support this). These free visual supports provide children with the opportunity to have a child-friendly exemption card plus a playful opportunity to join in with showing other people what they look like under their masks.

The Face Mask cards can be carried around/worn on a lanyard, for those children who feel safer having an exemption card on their person. The ‘without my mask’ can be used in a similar way, for those children who are preferring to wear a mask and want to have some interaction with others about what they really look like.
