This set of cards can support your teaching and practice of a 5,4,3,2,1 exercise, which is a commonly used activity in mindfulness.

Initially, children will need the concept of Slowing Down (Grounding) explained to them and the cards can support this part of this introductory work. All of the Slow Down Card Sets include guidance about pre-exercise conditions and a simple structure for meditation. Children need to be encouraged to make decisions that make them feel comfortable.  It is important that children make their own choices about their own bodies in mindfulness and for these choices to be fully respected.
